In 1978, two young and energetic quantity surveyors employed by a successful South London building company decided to do their own thing! Both myself and Michael Burke, frustrated at the limitations imposed in working for others and by the desire to be our own bosses, decided to go into partnership and John Cornell Builders Ltd was born. In the mid 80's we recruited former colleague Simon Goodwin, who was made a Director not long after. Together, we have worked tirelessly over many years and by pursuing a policy of controlled expansion, have developed the company into the well-established Main Contractor it is today.
During this time, we have earned a reputation for our efficient and smooth running of contracts in both private and public sectors. The company carries out new build, design & build and refurbishment schemes throughout London and the South-East both through competitive tendering and negotiation and by recommendation and repeat business from our existing clients.
We have an experienced and dedicated management team who take pride in providing fast, personal service to clients and respond with calm efficiency to changing priorities and requests for alternative costs, whilst ensuring that all contracts run on time and to the highest professional standards.
We all thoroughly enjoy our work and the contribution we can provide. I am told we bring an energy and enthusiasm to projects and that our friendly and helpful approach is considered refreshing.
Our contracts range in value from £250,000 to £2M+
I believe we are on most Housing Associations' approved lists and are known to nearly all of the major consultants.
