Lewisham Voids Phase 2 - 3No Refurbishment's

The 2nd phase, of what became a rolling programme of major refurbishment work spanning 3 years, was secured from the South London Family Housing Association by negotiation.

All of the properties were completely gutted prior to having their external envelope and internal structure overhauled or totally rebuilt wherever found to be necessary. Works covered the complete gambit of building construction and temporary works some of which, undertaken within local conservation areas, required both a sympathetic touch as well as the faithful reproduction of original features. Remodelling of internal layouts required almost total replacement of internal floor structures and partitions. Underpinning, replacement roof coverings, new double glazed windows, stucco work were the norm throughout. A high degree of comfort has been afforded by full central heating coupled with “thermalboard” insulation to external walls, insulated ground floors and a whopping 200mm of roof insulation. Zurich Municipal cover provided.
