A Design & Build development of 20No new homes for the Circle 33 Housing Trust built on a former one acre allotments site. Works included the construction of the adopted road and sewers for Phases 1 and the future Phase 2. Of the 14No houses , 5No were built to “lifetime homes” standard and 2No were specialist disabled units for the John Groom Housing Association and incorporated “Wessex” lifts, fully adjustable kitchens and bathrooms. Construction comprised, deep strip foundations, insulated beam & block ground floors, fully filled cavity walls and trussed roofs. All double glazed timber windows were provided with child locks. Main roof slopes were covered in interlocking concrete tiles and front bays with sheet lead. Each property has off street parking and large gardens with rainwater storage facilities. Highly insulated to a NHER rating of 9, the development also achieved “Secured by Design” certification and the BRE “Environmental Standard Award”. Full NHBC insurance cover was also provided.
