65-69 Loughborough Rd, SW9

This D&B contract was for the construction of 3No new houses, located within the local conservation area at the busy “five ways” junction of Loughborough Rd and Akerman Rd SW9.

It was a Planning condition that the façade of the existing building, which had been derelict and unoccupied for many years, be retained. Demolition and reconstruction required meticulous planning and programming of the works; matters were complicated by the need to work around and fill existing basements and the extensive repair work to the façade itself. This included, reconstruction of bowed and defective brickwork, new steel bressemer’s, brick stitching, concrete elbows, ties and strapping, replacement of stucco; which we manufactured on site, new box frame sash windows and external rendering.
